Miss Texass:
We recently told you what to hide when a guys comes over. Well, now we’re going to tell you what to leave out! While we don’t want some of our things to send the wrong image, there are a few items that will help you send the right message. Here are some we’ve picked out for you:
1. Things that reflect intelligence
Now don’t go crazy and leave out Stephen Hawkins A Brief History of Everything just to impress a guy if you haven’t read it (it’s good though, read it). But it will serve you well to throw in a couple of fitness magazines, National Geographics, The Economist if you’re feeling political. Just something that advertises your interests. Magazines are easiest, but don’t be afraid of throwing out a book or two. At the very least this shows you know how to read, at the most it might spark up a great conversation showing off your impressive brain power!
2. Things that show a healthy lifestyle
While it might be overboard to go out and get a treadmill for your place, a well placed yoga mat can go a long way to imply that you’re serious about your fitness. From my limited research of interviewing one guy once, guys like girls who work out. It’s sexy or something. Either way, it can’t hurt to put out some dumbbells, maybe you’ll end up using them. Or not.
3. Things that imply sex appeal
First things first, I said imply. That doesn’t mean leave out a box of condoms and hope he gets the hint that you like sex. That just makes you look like a lady of the night. What you should do is to leave little hints, like a Victoria’s Secret bag in your room, or a lacy bra laying on top of some folded laundry. This way you can imply sex appeal without doing the equivalent of shoving your boobs in his face.
4. Things that show you’re not antisocial
If you’ve ever walked into someone’s place and the walls are bare, I’m sure you would leave immediately and assume they’re a serial killer. So it’s a good idea to have pictures of your friends and family around. Just as above, thought, don’t over do it. Things to avoid: too many pictures of you and your guy friends. Just like when you creep on a guy on facebook and all of his pics are with girls and you automatically assume he’s either gay or a player, he might thing the same about you and your twelve thousand guy friends.
5. Things that show off you
This is probably one of the more important things you can leave out. This reflects one of the most important aspects of you: your personality. Imagine you’re at a guys house and he happens to have your all time favorite movie/CD/TV show/piece of art/ironic thing you bought at urban outfitters. You would internally flip out right? Well, he might do the same. So make sure you leave out things that reflect you and what you’re interested in.
Good luck!
Hugs & Bitches,
MT
